Horse Shoe Cookies

Christmas is the only time our Mom makes these cookies and they are ALWAYS worth the wait!
Dough:
3 eggs slightly beaten
3/4 lb margarine
3/4 lb butter
1/2 lb sour cream
pinch of salt
1 pkg yeast
1 1/2 c sugar
2 tsp baking powder
7 c flour
dissolve yeast in sour cream - add rest of ingredients
refrigerate at least 1 hr
roll into powdered sugar
Filling
1 stiff egg white
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 c sugar
1/2 lb graham crackers-crushed
1 lb walnut pieces, crushed
enough milk to moisten
Mom would cut the dough with a round measuring 1 cup (metal w/ handle type)
take a tablespoon or so of the filling and place in the dough, pinch and shape into a horse shoe
bake at 350 for 14-16 mins
sprinkle with powder sugar
